SPRING 2000 - Volume V Issue 4
A MESSAGE FROM CITY COLLEGE PRESIDENT -
Have you noticed the changing climate of the labor market? Consider this: unemployment is down
because jobs are increasingly more available. Additionaly, within the next 10 years, the largest
precentage of the workforce, the Baby Boomers, will be retiring in masse.
MOUS CERTIFICATION AVAILABLE AT CITY COLLEGE -
Recently City College was approved as a public Microsoft Authorized Testing Center (A. T. C.) "This
is tremendous news", reports City College Vice President Information Technology Jeff Clayton. "Working
with today's complex technology, employers have a very difficult time veryfiying a job candidate's
proficiency.
THINKING SKILLS -

had been used for years, it was virtually new for the education field.
TOO MANY DISTRACTIONS -
We have many descriptions of traffic today - grid lock, maniac highway, suicide alley, etc. People drive
as if they are possessed ... with no time to waite for anyone or anything.
THE HEART BEAT -
Former medical assisting student Andrea Cox, currently working for Dr. Ocampos, a pediatrican
based in Boca Raton, recently visited the clinical lab class in Fort Lauderdale.
LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER -
The Learnig Resource Center has recently added two valuable reference volumes on United States
Statistics.
PI SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED -
Recently, Fort Lauderdale campus student Susan Hanry received a $500.00 scholarship from the
Statewide Private Investigator's Association of Florida in Orlando. Henry was one of two scholarship
recipients from all colleges in Florida...
